Commissions

I've recently started taking on commissions but in very structured and limited ways. Here is how it works.

1. I only take on two commissions a month, so they fill up.

2. The size is 26x32" acrylic on unstretched canvas. This means you'll need to get it stretched or framed once it arrives. This makes it cheaper and safer to ship because I can ship it rolled in a tube. I'm open to doing larger commissions but I am not interested in doing smaller commissions than what is listed or for less money. I am also open to doing the stretching for the canvas for you but it'll be at an additional cost and shipping.

3. The price is currently 1500.00 USD. 50% of that up front to secure you spot as a nonrefundable deposit, and the other 50% upon completion.

4. Each piece starts with a digital sketch prior to any physical painting so this helps dictate a composition and color scheme.

5. Each digital sketch, while just a rough sketch is allowed two revisions to refine any concerns. All while understanding that the magic generally happens in paint and in the freedom to move as needed.

6. You'll need to provide me with really good photo references if you are commissioning a couple portrait. These need to be in the line with what you'd like to see. If there are previous paintings of mine you like the color palette or composition in, please send me those along with the image or images you'd like me to use as a reference. I understand sometimes these commissions are a surprise but I need you to provide the best you can.

7. Keep in mind that my work isn't about perfection. There are abstractions and color choices made along the way of painting that won't be in the digital sketch. The faces won't be perfect, the hands won't be perfect, the landscapes won't be perfect. It's about a mood and moment more than perfection.

If you are interested in moving forward given this information, please me via my contact form with the subject matter "Commission" and lets get things rolling. I truly love creating personal works that are meaningful to a couple or individual.
